EDMONTON, Alberta – CX is pleased to announce that the City of Hamilton has selected the POSSE PLS (Permitting and Licensing Software) system as the City’s preferred solution for their modernized Planning, Permitting, Licensing and Bylaw system (PPLB).
Serving a population of over 597,000 residents, with a robust development sector exceeding $1 billion in construction value consistently over the past 12 years, the City of Hamilton’s Planning and Economic Development Department selected POSSE PLS for its suitability as a single, integrated, end-to-end solution for permitting, planning, licensing, inspections, code enforcement, eplans, and business intelligence.
The City of Hamilton deemed the rapid implementation of a new PPLB system an urgent priority, emphasizing in its subsequent procurement the selection of: A) a modern, comprehensive PPLB platform in use by other municipalities of similar size and scope, and B) the ability of the vendor to facilitate a rapid, agile implementation with minimal customizations using best practice templates.
Powered by CX’s award-winning, made-in-Canada POSSE software, the City of Hamilton’s new PPLB system will equip civic users with a broad range of features, including:

Moreover, in leveraging POSSE WebUI, a powerful toolset for building citizen portals using established development libraries from Facebook (ReactJS) and design standards from Google (Material Design); the City of Hamilton will be well equipped to provide intuitive, mobile-friendly customer experiences compliant with current accessibility standards—both now and in the future.
The City of Hamilton’s selection of POSSE PLS follows the recent launch of the City of Ottawa’s Powered by POSSE system in addition to successful system deployments at the Regional Municipality of Durham, Ontario and Halton Region, Ontario.
