The CX Fitness Group

Wholeness is one of the three core values at Computronix, meaning that we value our employees and customers for who they are as people, not just the monetary value they can bring us. As our business plan states, we are committed to “supporting overall life balance.” One important aspect of a balanced life is health and well-being, including physical fitness. To help our employees stay in shape while maintaining the sense of community that we’ve created at Computronix, there is a new CX Fitness group.  This group organizes various fitness-related events, such as step challenges, which are quite popular among […]

The CX Ambassador Group

At Computronix, we often do things differently than other companies. Not for the sake of innovation or being unique or anything else, but simply because we believe that sometimes the traditional methods aren’t the best ones. One example of this is the Ambassador Group, which serves as a recruitment group – and so much more! The ambassadors are all Computronix employees – mostly developers – who have volunteered to be part of spreading the word about Computronix to prospective employees through various career fairs and partnerships with schools. Chris Johnstone, the co-chair of the group, describes their goals as “making […]

The Tech Lead Fast Track Course

Computronix has a strong emphasis on professional growth and development. Employees are encouraged and given opportunities to learn and become better at their jobs, and even to move into new positions if they so desire. One of the ways the company provides learning opportunities is through programs, courses and classes, such as the Supervisor Training course, or the recent Tech Lead Fast Track program. In the pilot Tech Lead Fast Track program, a group of employees were selected who were currently performing in a lead developer or an entry level tech lead role.    The goal of the pilot launch was […]

Interview With Jim den Otter, CTO

For our Computronix employee interviews, we sit down with people from all levels of our company and ask them about their jobs, and what it’s like working for Computronix. Interestingly, although Herman Leusink is the founder of Computronix and led the company its first 34 years, he has been passed up as the longest continually employed member of Computronix by Jim den Otter. Jim started with Computronix in the early 80’s, and has been a fixture at the company ever since. One could hardly publish a series of interviews with Computronix employees and neglect to talk to Jim, so we […]

Interview with Dave Leusink, CEO (Part 1)

For our Computronix employee interviews, we sit down with people from all levels of our company and ask them about their jobs, and what it’s like working for Computronix. Dave Leusink is a very prepared person. Sitting at the meeting table in his office, he presented a copy of the notes he had written for this interview, creating an outline for how he would answer each question. He gives the impression that he’s a man who likes to have a strategy, and one who puts a lot of thought into every decision he’s faced with. Obviously every CEO is responsible […]

Interview with Dave Leusink, CEO (Part 2)

For our Computronix employee interviews, we sit down with people from all levels of our company and ask them about their jobs, and what it’s like working for Computronix. This is Part 2 of an interview series. Please read Part 1 first There are many ways in which Computronix is not a typical company, some of which are obvious, others much less so. One simple, subtle thing you might notice if you walk around either of the two offices is that there are no titles displayed on anyone’s desk or office door. Staff members’ business cards are also devoid of […]

Interview with Herman Leusink, Founder (Part 1)

For our Computronix employee interviews, we sit down with people from all levels of our company and ask them about their jobs, and what it’s like working for Computronix. Just before his interview, Herman Leusink was in the main kitchen of the Computronix offices, working on a puzzle. He slotted a couple pieces of a butterfly’s wing into place, adding to the forest scene, then led the way down the hall to his corner office, located directly below the “CX Place” sign which hangs on the outside of the building. His office isn’t what you might expect from the retired […]
