Interview with Joel George, Office Manager

For our Computronix employee interviews, we sit down with people from all levels of our company and ask them about their jobs, and what it’s like working for Computronix.

When Joel George started with Computronix in 2005, he was one of just 15 in the Denver office. Because of the limited number of staff at that time, he had the opportunity to take on a lot of unique roles and responsibilities. Despite being hired as a bookkeeper, at various times he was able to take on project management, account management, and even some HR responsibilities. As the company has continued to grow; with 50 in the Denver office, more people have been hired to take on those other responsibilities.  This allows Joel to focus on the work he really enjoys in finance, and as the Office Manager, overseeing the administrative team.

He has been challenged in the past 14 years with the additional workload and learning various jobs, but he says that Computronix is “the best, happiest work atmosphere that I have been a part of. They really emphasize a balance between work and personal life.” Through difficult times, Computronix has supported Joel, brought people on to assist him, and has ultimately left him feeling that “It’s a really caring environment. It feels like we’re all a team.”

Joel feels that Computronix has taught him many things over the years – from deepening his financial knowledge to the simple fact that “the Computronix philosophy of running a business works.” To him, that philosophy is embodied in the core values, which he expresses as “We keep our word, we work hard and do good work, but we’re also balanced in not letting work consume our lives. We really try to not just meet, but even exceed expectations.”
