Up and Running with POSSE in Hamilton County

June 21, 1999

When Hamilton County, Indiana, needed a flexible business solution for their planning, permitting and inspection departments they went with a POSSE.

POSSE is a configurable work management system that keeps track of work in progress, allows activities to be scheduled and forwards tasks to appropriate staff. POSSE handles planning, permitting and remote inspections and much more, and is configured to each organizations unique business processes and data.

"POSSE will not only serve our current business requirements and replace existing systems, it will give us a strategic advantage and the flexibility we need to handle the tremendous growth we are experiencing in Hamilton County," says Larry Stout, Project Sponsor for Hamilton County.

Developed by Edmonton-based Computronix, Computronix and Hamilton County are in the process of training county staff on how POSSE works.

"POSSE gives Hamilton County capabilities they didn't have before," said Dune Nguyen, Project Manager for Computronix. "As their staff are trained, the level of excitement grows as they see what POSSE can do and where it can be used outside their immediate requirements."

POSSE combines configurable workflow, desktop GIS map display and interaction, spatial GIS and remote computing technologies into a single, integrated system. This one-stop system saves time, reduces costs and streamlines business processes. POSSE supports and extends key business processes using best-of-breed, client/server technologies to deliver maximum flexibility at the lowest possible cost.

Hamilton County plans to implement POSSE in the last quarter of this year with up to 100 users.
