Computronix NewsSt. Albert joins POSSE bandwagonOctober 28, 2001 The City of St. Albert has become the fourth Alberta municipality to join the growing POSSE user base in the province, along with Calgary, Edmonton and Strathcona County. The POSSE work management system has been used at the City of Edmonton since 1995, and at the City of Calgary since 1998. POSSE has dramatically improved how these cities do business in various areas, such as permitting and business licenses. "We plan to implement POSSE in phases, starting with addressing and development approvals such as construction and building permits. Later, we will look at potentially using the POSSE remote system for our field inspections and data collection," says Curtis Cundy, Director of Planning and Development for the City of St. Albert. Computronix is assisting St. Albert with putting the City's development business processes into the POSSE system. These business processes will be used by City Planning staff to provide consistent rules for managing work and decision making. Improved customer service is the goal for the POSSE implementation. In 2000, St. Albert was the focus city for a pilot project with Alberta Municipal Affairs for an Internet-based permitting system using POSSE. "We are pleased to have St. Albert as another local client. The growing acceptance of POSSE in Alberta at both the government and private industry levels proves its versatility and strength," says Keith Burgess, POSSE Business Development Manager. St. Albert is adjacent to Edmonton, with a population of 60,000. –30– |
