POSSE to unify Permitting and Inspections for Madera County, CA

May 15, 2001

The County of Madera, California, has licensed POSSE, the powerful work management system by Computronix, for the tracking of land development projects and permit issuance functions within the County.

The County is integrating its Building Division into a "one-stop shop" to promote customer satisfaction, assure quality development, and coordinate development processing, plans review, permit issuance, and inspection operations.

"We want to provide the best possible service to our customers on a comprehensive level," said Mark Meyers, Chief Building Official for the County of Madera. "POSSE will allow us to unify our projects and permits tracking system in order to support our new permit center and the review/approval process."

The international award-winning POSSE, is a highly configurable work management system with map display/GIS integration and powerful remote computing capabilities. POSSE's strength lies in its ability to support a wide variety of business and e-business activities and processes, including regulatory activities such as permitting and inspections.

POSSE will be used by the Building, Engineering, Environmental Health, Fire, Planning and Roads departments for the issuing and completing of permits related to each department. Each department provides specific customer assistance to County residents and potential developers.

"Computronix will be working with the County to configure the permit types needed by all the departments and deploy it across the County," said Selmer Hanson, POSSE Project Manager.

The County of Madera is a rapidly growing county in California's San Joaquin Valley, with a current population of approximately 116,000. Almost 2500 new construction and renovations permits are issued annually, and approximately 500 land development projects are submitted.
