POSSE V6.2 improves performance, time to implementation

March 4, 2009

Computronix is pleased to announce the general availability release of POSSE Version 6.2 that will enable POSSE customers and project teams to move 100-per-cent-fit, site-specific applications into production much faster, with improved system performance and upgradability.

The new release incorporates state-of-the-art industry best practices for change management, now reflected in a completely retooled Marshal version control utility that allows POSSE developers and technicians to move end user configurations more quickly and easily through development and test environments into actual production.

Version 6.2 further evolves POSSE's Web services and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) components, continuing to make POSSE a leading product in SOA/interoperability-compliant information technology for government.

Other important new features include:
• Support for Oracle 10g (support for Oracle 9i has been discontinued)
• Updated overall "look and feel" in the end user interface, now supporting Windows Vista/XP and a wide range of popular browsers
• Significant upload/download synchronization performance with the standalone MobilePC application, Ranger, dramatically improving the user experience for field inspectors who rely on Ranger to perform their work in remote geographical areas where wireless coverage is unavailable
• Support for Sybase InfoMaker Version 11 reporting tool, improving reporting capabilities, including digital photo capture

"We're pleased to introduce this latest POSSE release. It demonstrates our POSSE Product Council's ongoing commitment to keep our world-class product contemporary with underlying technologies, trends and best practices and, most importantly, with the very real and practical business needs of our government regulatory customers," says Jim den Otter, Vice President of Products and Sales.
