Computronix selected for Indiana-compliant Tax System
January 15, 2009
Computronix (USA) of Lakewood, CO is pleased to announce that Hamilton County, Indiana has selected Computronix to develop and implement a new county Tax Administration System in order to comply with recently-legislated State of Indiana standards for a uniform and common property tax management system.
Computronix will utilize and enhance components of the County's existing POSSE enterprise regulatory compliance system, which has been in used in production in a wide variety of County departments since 1999. POSSE components will be supplemented by .NET-based custom development to be provided by Computronix. The System will be interfaced with the County's existing GIS and CAMA systems.
Each component of the System will be tested and State-certified by the Indiana Department of Local Government Finance as the entire System is phased into production over the next two years. The System will be expected to meet the State's stringent and comprehensive requirements for property tax management systems used within the State, including data submissions to the Department -- legislation now in effect for all Indiana counties.
"Hamilton County has struggled for years with tax and billing systems that, for one reason or another, required workarounds due to major faults in the system software. We are extremely confident the end product from Computronix will be without equal in Indiana. And we look forward to the collaboration with the wonderful team they have assembled for the project. We have worked with them since 1998 and couldn't be happier with the relationship," says Julie Crask, Applications/Database Manager.
"We are excited about the opportunity to provide Hamilton County with a leading-edge Property Tax Administration system that will meet their needs for many years to come,” says David Leusink, Computronix (USA) Regional Manager.
“The Tax Administration System will cover all aspects of the County's multi-year tax cycle, from maintaining real estate data through the collection and settlement of tax revenue, with all the features necessary to efficiently deal with the complexities of Indiana State requirements. We have greatly enjoyed working with Hamilton County over the past 10 years, and we look forward to many more years of partnering together to help them meet their mandate in serving the citizens of Hamilton County, Indiana."
Hamilton County (estimated 2008 population: 269,785) is a fast-growing bedroom community on the northern border of metro Indianapolis. The county seat is located in Noblesville, IN.
Senior County business and IT staff trained in POSSE configuration continue to develop the County's POSSE regulatory system, most recently implementing end user applications to support food inspections/food safety processes, vital statistics and registries, and pandemic and disaster response planning, preparedness and execution.
