ITA selects POSSE, CGI Group for e-Business outreach

December 21, 2007

EDMONTON, AB – The Industry Training Authority of British Columbia has awarded a major information technology migration and e-Business expansion initiative to CGI Group of Burnaby, B.C. IT components to be implemented by CGI will include Computronix’s award-winning POSSE® work management software technology. Burnaby’s CGI team is now an authorized POSSE system integrator in British Columbia.

CGI will lead the project to replace ITA’s corporate system and to streamline and expand online ITA program and service offerings through its own Web site as well as from participating industrial training organization (ITO) Web sites.

“We are very pleased that ITA has chosen our POSSE technology for its modernization project, and we look forward to supporting CGI staff through this project to a successful completion,” said Dave denOtter, BC Regional Manager.

The Industry Training Authority (Web site: www.itabc.ca) is a provincial government agency that became operative in early 2004 with legislated responsibility to govern and to develop the industry training system in British Columbia. ITA works with trainees and apprentices, employers, and industrial training organizations to meet industry's training needs, now and in the future, throughout the province.

CGI is Canada’s largest management and IT consulting firm and employ over 25,000 employees with revenues in excess of $3.7 billion.  Within B.C., CGI employs over 200 employees with approximately 150 focused on IT services.
