Douglas County Planning builds on POSSE system

March 15, 2008

LAKEWOOD, CO – The Community Development Department of Douglas County, Colorado continues to expand its use of its POSSE® Government Software solution. The County has elected to implement its new Planning Division software system and online ePlanning services system using POSSE.

Community Development oversees zoning, land use and natural resources planning, building inspection and permitting, and various community services. POSSE was first implemented in the Department’s Building Inspection Division in 2004.

“We are excited about the opportunity to work with another division of Douglas County Community Development, “said David Leusink, Computronix (USA) Regional Manager.

“This project will again demonstrate the leverage that POSSE can provide through a single platform for integrated enterprise-wide application development.  Douglas County has been a tremendous partner for us in our prior projects together and we look forward to working with the County yet again.  Douglas is one of the most IT-savvy counties in the country. Computronix is very pleased to continue to win the County’s confidence with our award-winning technology and our skilled Lakewood-based staff.”

Computronix will work collaboratively with the County’s IT department, now trained in POSSE configuration and support, to complete the project concurrently with a POSSE system upgrade to the new SOA-compliant/.NET framework-friendly POSSE Version 6 platform.

Douglas County is strategically located between Colorado's two largest cities: Denver and Colorado Springs. The county seat is located in Castle Rock, CO. Statistics for 2007 show Douglas County’s population at 283,000 with a 4.5 per cent annual growth rate. The County’s strength, as the centerpiece of the Denver/Colorado Springs development corridor, is a perfect blend of quality lifestyle and business environment.
