Computronix NewsBroward County adopts POSSE for Environmental LicensingFebruary 5, 2001 Computronix (U.S.A.) is pleased to announce that Broward County, Florida, has selected POSSE as its work management software application for the Department of Planning and Environmental Protection (DPEP). The Department provides environmental licensing, permitting and enforcement, and pollution prevention and control services for the well-known south Florida county. POSSE, developed by Computronix, is an award-winning system for government and business. POSSE's strength lies in its ability to support a wide variety of business and e-business activities and processes. Virtually any government or business service can be managed using POSSE. The initial POSSE project for Broward County will entail support for storage tank and well field licensing, hazardous material storage and transportation, solid waste management, biological resource licensing, complaints, citations, notice of violations (NOVs) and more. "We look forward to working with Computronix to make this project a success," said Jade Venuto, Broward County Project Manager. "Our business group was very pleased and excited by POSSE's power and flexibility. They are eager to begin work on this project." "We are delighted with this announcement," said Keith Burgess, POSSE Business Development Manager. "Our aim is to work with DPEP staff, who are obviously highly motivated, to implement a POSSE system that will become a showcase site in that busy south Florida corridor." Broward County, situated on the southeast coast of Florida, is the second largest county in the state with a population of over 1.45 million. Broward County encompasses 30 municipalities, including Fort Lauderdale. The project is scheduled to get underway in the first quarter of 2001. POSSE is now used in several counties, municipalities and businesses in North America, supporting such activities as permitting and licensing, land management, planning and development activities, remote inspections, complaints, code enforcement, infrastructure and asset management, zoning, addressing, notifications, and issues and action querying and tracking, and more. –30– |
