B.C. to use POSSE for Public Safety programs

June 27, 2002

Computronix is pleased to announce that the Safety Engineering Services Division (SESD) of the B.C. Ministry of Community, Aboriginal and Women's Services has selected POSSE as its new work management system to improve internal business processes, inspection processes, and external client access with the Ministry via the Internet.

SESD is responsible for the delivery of programs that ensure safety in the design, manufacture, construction, installation, operation, and repair of various equipment including boilers and pressure vessels, pressure piping, electrical devices, elevating devices, gas equipment, aerial tramways, railways, and more.

"POSSE's flexibility will enable the Ministry to deliver its safety programs using state-of-the-art information technology, and will allow SESD to change how it delivers those programs as legislation, regulations, and business processes change over time," said Dune Nguyen, POSSE Implementation Services Manager for Computronix.

POSSE will be deployed across SESD and to external users using POSSE Internet, POSSE Remote and Citrix Terminal Server technology. The POSSE implementation will start with the Electrical Safety Program of the Electrical and Elevating Devices Safety Branch, scheduled to go into production in Q1 2003.

"The level of support from senior management at SESD has been excellent and will help ensure the success of implementing POSSE at SESD," continued Nguyen.

The staff of SESD serves its clientele from more than 30 office locations throughout the province. For more information on SESD, visit its website at http://www.mcaws.gov.bc.ca/SES.
