2006 Digital Government Achievement Award for City of Dallas

September 2006 - The City of Dallas is selected a 2006 Winner of the Digital Government Achievement Award in the Government-to-Business category. The award was given for the Dallas Online Applications and Inspections Portal (using POSSE Internet).

The Digital Government Achievement Award is a national (US) program that recognizes outstanding agency and department Websites and applications that enhance information interactions, transactions and/or services. For more information, visit www.centerdigitalgov.com

2006 URISA Award Winners - Dallas and Calgary

September 2006 - City of Dallas received the URISA 2006 Exemplary Systems in Government (ESIG) Award in the Single Process Systems Category. The City's Land Management System (POSSE) was deemed exemplary by the 2006 ESIG Committee and chosen from among an extremely competitive group of candidates.

The City of Calgary received the URISA 2006 Distinguished Systems Award in the Single Process Category for the City's ePlans project using POSSE. The ePlans project went live in June 2005.

Broward County Wins 2005 Computerworld Honors Award

June 2005 - On June 6, at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C., the Broward County Environmental Protection Department was named the grand winner in the "Environment, Energy and Agriculture" category.

Broward County is a POSSE client serving 1.8 million citizens in southern Florida. The 2005 Computerworld awards competition had over 250 nominees in 10 categories from over 50 countries worldwide. Alberta Environment EIMS Team Receives 2005 Premier's Award of Excellence Bronze Award

September 2005 - The Environment Infrastructure Management System (EIMS) project team was recognized for their work in analysis, planning and implementing EIMS using Earthwon, to support water infrastructure management in Alberta worth over $5 billion.

The Premier's Award of Excellence is given to project teams that illustrate the values and principles expressed in the government business plan and financial plan, the public service vision and quality management principles.

B.C. LCLB Project Receives 2003 Strategies for Public Sector Transformation Award

September 2003 - The British Columbia Liquor Control and Licensing Branch (LCLB) received provincial recognition for "Excellence in Project Management" for the LCLB POSSE implementation. The award was presented at the Strategies for Public Sector Transformation 2003 conference, which recognizes leadership, innovation and excellence in the B.C. Government.

2002 CIPA Award to The City of Calgary and The City of Edmonton

November 2002 - The City of Calgary and the City of Edmonton's government partnership won the Canadian Information Productivity Award of Excellence for its POSSE Internet-based permitting system. The award recognizes the Inter-Municipal Internet Permitting Project, in which Calgary and Edmonton joined forces to implement this electronic permitting system that has saved money for both cities and the private sector. 2000 Technology in Government Award

October 2000 - The City of Surrey, B.C., received a Silver medal at the Technology in Government Week 2000 Distinction Awards, for its Bylaw Enforcement and Licensing Automation System (powered by POSSE). The award category is Group III, Innovative Service Delivery in Municipalities over 100,000.

2000 CIPS Award

May 2000 - Computronix received the 2000 Canadian Software Systems CIPS Achievement Award for POSSE. The annual award is given by the Canadian Information Processing Society (CIPS) for a software system originating in Canada that has had a significant effect, as evidenced by new concepts, market acceptance, increased competitiveness, or influence on later software developments.

1998 Computerworld Smithsonian Award

April 1998 - Computronix and the City of Edmonton were nominated for a Computerworld Smithsonian Award, and the POSSE system was inducted into the Smithsonian Institution's collection of ground-breaking software.

1997-1998 Five Awards Received by City of Edmonton

The City of Edmonton, Alberta, has received five national and international awards for its implementation of POSSE:

  • 1998 - Canadian Information Productivity Award (CIPA) in the category of government
  • 1998 - Distinction '98 Gold Medal for innovative service delivery in the municipal category
  • 1998 - CIO Canada ITX Award for innovative information technology
  • 1997 - International URISA Award for exemplary systems in government (Operations Automation System)
  • 1997 - International Bertelsmann Award for its implementation of the POSSE system
